Calling All Softball Players!

5 March 2008

Get your bats, cleats, and gloves!  It’s time for the 2008 Auburn alumni softball season.  Our alumni teams plays in the Capital Alumni Network with over 60 other alumni clubs, including SEC foes Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina.  The regular season consists of 14 games on the National Mall.  Approximately half of the games will be at 6:30 during the week, and the remainder will be played over the weekends.  The high point of the season is a two day double-elimination tournament in August where the Tigers compete against all of the DC area alumni clubs.

We’re looking for new players of all skill levels and all alumni and spouses are welcomed to join the fun.  The regular season is geared towards recreational and social softball, and the tournament is for the competitive folks, so there’s a little something for everyone.  Above all, it’s a great way to meet other AU alumni in the area and reminisce about your favorite Auburn memories.

Spring Training starts on March 24th, and Opening Day is April 7th.  If you interested in playing softball with Auburn, please contact Susan at reynolds@auburnalum.org for further information.
